The Miami Dolphins are adding defensive end/linebacker Andre Jones Jr. off the Buffalo Bills’ practice squad, NFL Network is reporting.
Jones played under current Dolphins special teams coordinator Chris Tabor last season in Buffalo, where he played 44 special teams snaps compared to 38 on defense.
Jones, 27, is 6-feet-5 and 258 pounds.
Jones was a seventh-round pick by the Washington Commanders
in 2023 out of Louisiana.For his career, he has played 19 games, starting two, with 10 tackles but no sacks.
The signing comes a day after the Dolphins lost 27-13 to the host San Francisco 49ers amid another mixed bag by the special teams. The lowlight came when Bradley Pinion dropped the ball while attempting to punt, resulting in a blooper-reel moment
that won't quickly fade away. Two plays later, the 49ers cashed in on the error with a touchdown.
