South Florida travelers will soon have the chance to fly to three eastern cities where there aren't manyflight options — and without changing planes.
Breeze Airways will offer new flights taking off from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airportthis spring with one stop, but no change of plane, so travelers can stay onboard during the stop.
The airline will service the new routes from FLL to Burlington, Vermont, starting on May 27, to Charleston, West Virginia, starting on May 26 and to Stewart-Newburgh, New York, starting on May 28. Travelers can start booking the flights Oct. 13.
The Burlington flights will run on Thursdays and Sundays, the Charleston flights will run on Wednesdays and Saturdays and the Stewart-Newburgh flights will run on Mondays
and Fridays.
“Every route we add to our network starts with the same question: where can Breeze’s direct service bring travelers a convenience they don’t already enjoy today?” wrote David Neeleman, Breeze Airways’ founder and CEO, in a prepared statement. “These new routes and destinations now bring Breeze’s high-value, low-cost service to these cities, making affordable travel to great destinations more convenient than ever.”
What is Breeze Airways?
Breeze Airways is a low-cost airline that offers some routes formerly covered by Spirit Airlines, a budget airline that shut down in May. Breeze Airways grew the most out of any sizable airline for flights out of PBIA in 2025.
In August, about 2% of all FLL flights were from Breeze Airways, according to a traffic report. They carried more than 25,500 passengers to destinations such as Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Providence, Rhode Island.
The airline runs more than 300 year-round and seasonal routes to 95 cities in the United States, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. It has a new fleet of Airbus A220-300 aircraft and offers free family seating, onboard WiFi and preferred seat options, according to a press release.
