The El Paso Fire Department was reporting no major problems at sunrise Tuesday, Sept. 29, after a night of the first rains stemming from Hurricane Polo.
A flood watch continues for El Paso and Southern New Mexico until 6 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, with more rain expected Tuesday afternoon and night.
El Paso firefighters responded to 12 weather-related incidents as of 11 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, as rains fell in the city, EPFD spokesman Hector Gonzalez said in a message.
The majority of weather-related calls were vehicle accidents and hazards (eight calls) and one call each of floodwater/mobility assistance, a pedestrian vehicle collision, utility/electrical and a call of a fallen
tree/property damage.
A pedestrian transported to hospital after struck by a vehicle at Socorro Road and Americas Avenue in the Lower Valley.
