The list of food recallskeeps growing, with Chipotle now pulling an item from its menu over concerns of possible salmonella contamination.
The chain saidin a statement on Aug. 5 it identified jalapeños from a particular grower in Sinaloa, Mexico and proactively removed them from the restaurants where they had been distributed. The statement did not specify which restaurants had been impacted.
"The health and safety of our guests and employees is our highest priority. We have a robust ingredient traceability system," the statement said, in part, adding that the Centers for Disease Control and Food and Drug Administration said there is no ongoing risk from Chipotle restaurants in the outbreak.
Other food recalls include eggs, soup, lettuce
Lettuce: Taylor Farms, a huge producer of bag salads
under several brands, issued a voluntary recall. Taylor Farms is withdrawing from U.S. markets and foodservice iceberg lettuce sourced from central Mexico because of the possible cyclospora contamination. Taylor Farms' recalled products include Walmart’s Marketside brand of shredded iceberg lettuce (8-ounce or 16-ounce) and iceberg salad (12-ounce or 24-ounce). The lettuce has “best if used by dates of: July 18, 2026, through August 3, 2026.
Eggs: Midwest Poultry Services, L.P. is voluntarily recalling 1,589,577 dozen white shell eggs and brown cage free shell eggs that were sold at Kroger stores in Texas and Louisiana, Brookshire Grocery stores in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Mississippi, and other smaller retail outlets. The eggs were produced and distributed from farms in Texas between June 6, 2026 and July 3, 2026, with sell by or best by dates between July 20, 2026 and August 17, 2026.
Amy's Organic Soups: Amy’s Kitchen, Inc., is recalling its “Organic Lentil, Light in Sodium” soup because of the potential for spoilage due to a manufacturers defect in the pull tab to open the can. More than 180,000 of the soup in 14.5 ounce size in a single lot number 60D0924 are part of the recall. Michigan is one of the more than 20 states on the FDA’s Enforcement Reports distribution pattern. The cans have a "Best Before" date of April 2027.
