A 16-year-old girl died after she crashed into a tree in South-central El Paso, authorities said.
The girl, whose name has not been released, was driving a 2006 Chrysler 300 about 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17, in the 4000 block of East Paisano Drive when she lost control of the vehicle, El Paso Police Department spokeswoman Detective Judy Oviedo said in a news release.
As she lost control, the girl crashed into a tree, the news release states. She died in the crash.
No further information has been released. This is the 44th traffic-related death of 2026 compared to 43 at this same time last year.
