With the 2026-27 high school sports seasonapproaching, the El Paso Times will give readers a chance to vote to select El Paso's top athletes and teams.
This week, readers can vote for the Girls Athlete of the Week in volleyball and cross country for the week of Sept. 29-Oct.3.

Here are the nominees:
- Zoe Strange, El Paso High volleyball. In win vs. Horizon, strange had 19 assists, nine digs, three aces.
- Tiwa Opawumi, Coronado volleyball. Against Franklin, she had 17 kills, 3 blocks and 15 digs. Against Socorro, she had 7 kills and 10 digs.
- Jayme Rojas-Hernandez, Jefferson volleyball. In win vs. Horizon, she had 9 aces, 7 kills, 22 assists and 12 digs.
- Addison Carrillo, Eastlake volleyball. In two matches last week, she had 33 digs and four service aces.
- Zoeh Cereceres, Chapin volleyball. In win vs. El Paso High, she had 18 kills, 6 digs 1 ace, 1 block. Against Burges, she had 33 kills 8 digs 3 blocks.
- Victoria Dominguez, El Dorado volleyball. Against Hanks, she had 19 assists, 8 digs and 2 service aces. Against Americas, she had 18 assists, 4 digs and 3 aces.
- Belle Sanchez, Eastwood volleyball. Against Eastlake, she had 15 kills and 11 digs.
- Kylah Dickerson, Pebble Hills volleyball. Against Montwood, she had 13 kills, 7 digs and 2 aces. Against Socorro, she had 18 kills, 4 blocks and 4 aces.
- Ave Molina, Eastlake cross country. She finished 13th at the Lubbock Invite.
- Kareena Talavera, Pebble Hills cross country. she finished 15th at t5he Lubbock Invite.
