Burges High School senior place kicker Isaac Pizana was the Friday night lights hero in a crucial District 1-5A, Division 2 showdown with El Paso High.
Pizana nailed a 44-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Mustangs past the Tigers, 41-38, in the district opener for both teams at Burges HS on Friday, Oct. 2..
The game featured five lead changes and three ties.
In a tight first half, El Paso High led 17-16 at the aided by two forced turnovers and a kickoff return for a score.

What's next for both El Paso High and Burges?
Both teams are off on Friday, Oct. 9. Both teams return on Friday, Oct. 16, the Tigers will play Del Valle and Burges will face Chapin.
