President Donald Trump has landed in Texas ahead of his appearance at the Republican convention in Dallas.
Trump arrived at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport on Wednesday, Sept. 9, ahead of the Republican
Party’s first-ever midterm convention at the American Airlines Center.
The president promoted the event in a Truth Social post on Sept. 8, calling the convention “HOT!”
“The American Airlines Center, home to the Dallas Mavericks, is totally sold out! Everybody wants to be there, but we’re really asking only those Candidates that are in tight Races, a little up, a little down, or even, to speak,” Trump wrote.
Trump Air Force One slide deployed
Trump's trip to Dallas was briefly delayed after an emergency slide was accidentally deployed and was removed, Reuters reported.
Military personnel accidentally triggered the slide, a person briefed on the matter told Reuters.
Is Trump in Dallas?
Trump landed at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport Wednesday afternoon before leaving the airport by motorcade for Dallas.
Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson greeted Trump upon his arrival, according to multiple news reports.
Republicans are holding the two-day convention Sept. 9-10 at the American Airlines Center as the party looks to rally supporters ahead of the November midterm elections.
What time does Trump speak tonight?
Trump is scheduled to deliver remarks at the Republican convention at about 7:15 MT/8:15 p.m. CT on Wednesday.
Trump is also scheduled to appear at the convention Thursday, when he is expected to deliver closing remarks.
