What is the story about?

The Eastwood and Pebble Hills high school volleyball teams had plenty at stake in their District 1-6A match.

The winner would take a big step to earning one of the four playoff berths out of the talented district and it came down to the deciding fifth set before the host Troopers held on for the win on Tuesday, Oct. 6.

The Troopers won the first two sets, 25-11 and 25-18 but then the Spartans had a spirited rally and won the next two sets by identical 25-22 scores.

But Eastwood was dominant in the fifth set and won 15-4. Eastwood is in firm control of the fourth and final playoff berth with a 5-3 district record, while Pebble Hills is 3-5. Both teams have four district matches left in the regular season.
