The owner of Mesa Street Grill is trying to get information about a safe burglary at the restaurant on Sept. 19.
He shared a video on Instagramof someone breaking into the restaurant and grabbing a safe. The video shows a ceiling light fixture moving while a person in a hoodie and backpack drops down from the ceiling and then moves around the restaurant, looking for something.
"They dropped in through the ceiling, grabbed our safe, and left out the back. A few other spots nearby got hit the same way. Anyone know anything? Please reach out or tell the police," stated the business Instagram post.
Owner Aaron Means told the El Paso Times that a safe was stolen containing about $ 2,500.
"There were some deposits, petty cash and our bar drawer inside.
While we usually don't have that large of an amount, they hit after a busy Thursday and Friday," he said.
According to an interview with news station KFOX 14, Means said the restaurant has now been hit four times, with break-ins occurring about eight to 12 months apart.
The suspects, he said, seem to always find a way in.
“So they popped in through an exhaust vent, landed on our hanging ceiling, shimmied their way to the wine room, dropped down and just kind of ran through the restaurant as fast as they could looking to find anything of value,” Means told KFOX.
Means said he has also heard other restaurants have been targeted and that police are working on the case.
