New and upcoming additions to Netflix include a series on Halloween-theme cakes, documentaries on boxing legend Mike Tyson and American Indian activist Leonard Peltier and a new Ben Affleck movie.
Affleck
directed, co-wrote and stars in the kidnapping thriller "Animals," where he plays an independent Los Angeles mayoral candidate struggling in the polls whose young son is kidnapped for ransom.
"Animals" co-stars Kerry Washington and began streaming on Netflix on Oct. 9. The poll numbers don't look good. The movie has a 37% "Tomatometer" rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Affleck told USA Today that he would never run for office and has become "so disillusioned with the system and with politics and politicians, and the way it works."

With "Animals," Affleck said he wanted to explore the moral compromise that occurs in politics.
“The way it's constructed now is so geared around money, sound bites, cruelties and gotchas, and little snarky things that really have nothing to do with people's lives whatsoever," Affleck told USA Today. "And increasingly, it's easier to get votes appealing to the worst in people than it is appealing to the best in them. If you're telling a story about kind of morality and compromise, there are lots of pressures that are constantly asking you to sacrifice your principles."
Does Ben Affleck speak Spanish?
Ben Affleck speaks conversational Spanish and has dialogue in Spanish in his new movie "Animals."
