A new housing option is coming to El Paso's East Side.
Mountain Regency Residences of El Paso is planning to build a new apartment complex on North Zaragoza Road.

Nationally, the need for apartments has been on the rise for several reasons, including rising home payments and rents, a lag in the supply of new homes and shifts in demographics and market trends.
Where is it?
The new apartment complex will be located at 3557 North Zaragoza Road
in East El Paso, according to the city's permit and licensing page.
The new apartment complex will be located just off Rich Beem Boulevard, near two shopping centers: Paseo Real IV and La Tienda de Zaragoza. Many other businesses are located in the area, including a Dutch Bros. Coffee, Bobista, a Mister Car Wash, a Carl's Jr. and a Circle K, as well as Taco Bell and McDonald's.
What was there before?
The new apartment complex is being built atop a currently vacant lot.
The city's website did not provide information on how many units will be built as part of the project, nor any details about the size of the units or additional amenities to be constructed at the site.
Who is the contractor?
The city's website did not list the contractor, but the owner is Mountain Regency Residences LLC of El Paso. The applicant is listed as Jesus Ortega of Exigo Architects in El Paso.
The project is valued at $40 million.
