The seventh week of the 2026 high school football season is in the books and there were several top performances by athletes in El Paso.
Here is a look at 15 of the top performances on Thursday, Oct. 8,
and Friday, Oct. 9.
Maurice Edwards, QB, Americas
In a 50-49 win vs. Hanks
, Edwards threw four touchdown passes, rushed for three touchdowns, scored the game winning two-point conversion and intercepted a pass.Austin Deucher, RB, Hanks
In loss to Americas, the senior running back scored four rushing touchdowns in the District 1-5Q, Division 1 opener.
Sylas Reyes, RB, Canutillo
In helping Eagles coach Scott Brooks win his 200th game, Reyes scored two first half touchdowns. Canutillo is 5-1 on the season.
Carlos Rojas III, QB, Riverside
In 56-40 victory against Ysleta, Rojas ran for 230 yards and threw for four touchdowns in the District 1-4A, Division 1 opener for both teams. He had scoring runs from 68 and 74 yards.
Derek Armendariz, RB, Riverside
Armendariz joined Rojas with a big game against Ysleta by rushing for 173 yards on 23 attempts.
Daniel Torres, RB, Ysleta
Torres had 145 yards on 23 carries and two touchdowns against Riverside.

Kevin Samuels, RB, El Dorado
In win vs. Parkland in the District 1-5A, Division 1 opener, Samuels had 101 yards receiving and a pair of touchdown catches and he also ran for 70 yards and a score.
Angel Dominguez, QB, Bel Air
Dominguez, who is a senior, passed for 297 yards and rushed for 166 yards. He threw four TD passes and rushed for two scores.
Joe Fernandez, QB, Pebble Hills
In District 1-6a win vs. Montwood, Fernandez threw for 294 yards and rushed for 89 yards. He rushed for two scores and passed for a score.
Julian Mizcles, DE, Clint
In 29-0 win vs. Fabens, the junior had six total tackles, one sack, one tipped pass and two quarterback rushes.
Omar Jaquez, DL, Pebble Hills
In District 1-6A victory vs. Montwood, Jaquez had three solo tackles, one tackle for a loss, one sack and four quarterback hurries.
Alex Medina, PK, Del Valle
In District 1-5A, Division 2 loss to Canutillo, Medina helped the Conquistadores stay in the game in the first half with two field goals of more than 30 yards.
Kingston Jeffries, QB, Eastwood
Jeffries threw a pair of touchdown passes and rushed for two touchdowns in District 1-6A home win against Coronado.
Jordan Morales, QB, Hanks
In 50-49 loss to Americas, Morales helped guide the Knights to seven offensive touchdowns and threw three touchdown passes in the process.
Cristian Trejo, WR, Americas
In 50-49 win win vs. Hanks, Trejo caught two touchdown passes and a 27-yard pass on a fourth down play to help set up the game winning score.
