A man allegedly fatally shot his brother during a family dispute in far East El Paso and was arrested after a police pursuit ended in Horizon City, authorities said.
Officers arrested Jose Luis Garcia, 40, on suspicion of murder in connection with the fatal shooting of his brother Lorenzo Alba, 32, El Paso Police Department spokesman Sgt. Javier Sambrano said in a news release.
The shooting happened about 6:20 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21, at a house in the 1700 block of Charlie Smith Drive in the Montwood area of El Paso. Officers responded to a 911 call about an "assault-shooting" at the house, the news release states.

Dodge truck.
An alert was issued to El Paso-area law enforcement to be on the lookout for the truck. Officers located the truck in Central El Paso. Garcia allegedly refused to stop and led police on a chase.
Texas Department of Public Safety state troopers joined the pursuit near Interstate 10 East and Lee Trevino Drive.
A trooper conducted a "PIT maneuver" to stop Garcia in the area of Desierto Lindo Avenue and Maravillas Street in Horizon City, the news release states. PIT maneuver, Precision Immobilization Technique, is when law enforcement uses their patrol vehicle to hit the side of another vehicle, forcing it to go sideways in an attempt to stop it.
Troopers, with assistance from El Paso police, took Garcia into custody.
The El Paso Police Department's Crimes Against Persons Unit detectives conducted an investigation and obtained an arrest warrant for Garcia on a murder charge. He was also arrested on suspicion of evading arrest or detention with a vehicle.
Garcia was booked into the El Paso County jail on Tuesday, Sept. 22. He is being held without bond on the murder charge, while his bond on the evading arrest charge was set at $50,000.
No further information has been released.
"While an arrest has been made in this case, this is still an active investigation and no further details are available for public release," the police news release states.
