Effortless Favorite produced one of his best performances at the right time in the 2026 All American Derby for 3-year-old quarter horses.
On Sunday, Sept. 6, at the Downs At Albuquerque, Effortless Favorite won the $1 million, 440-yard race in 20.88 seconds for his 10th win in 15 starts.
It was the first All American Derby win for both trainer Jason Olmstead and jockey Francisco Raul Ramirez, Jr.
Nine-time winner Political Twist finished second and Ruidoso Derby winner Gf Shes Sinful was third.

Flying Joy 1 wins the All American Oaks
Flying Joy 1 won the$700,000, 440-yard All American Oaks for 3-year-old fillies in a time of 20.93 seconds. Lookatme Z was second and Era C was third.
The winning trainer was Trey Wood, the winning owner was David Rogers and the winning jockey was Ricky Ramirez.
Flying Joy 1 now owns four wins from 11 starts.

"Flying Joy 1 ran good and she showed a great deal of heart," Ramirez said. "She put it all togrther today."
Ajs Wingman comes up big in All American Invitational
Ajs Wingman won 440-yard All American QH Invitational for horses, who did not qualify for All American Derby. The winning time was 21.00 seconds, winning trainer was Olmstead, the winning owner was Paul Treadwell and the winning jockey was Ramiro Haro Garcia. Ajs Wingman now owns five career wins in 14 starts. Ajs Wingman was fifth in the 2025 All American Futurity.
