The Andress High school football team has high expectations in 2026and entered the season ranked No. 2 by the El Paso Times.
The Eagles delivered a strong performance on Friday, Aug. 28 in their season opener with a 44-34 victory vs. Las Cruces Centennial, which is ranked No. 5 in New Mexico by the state's coaches in Class 6A.
Andress led 30-20 at halftime, but the Hawks scored 14 straight to go up 34-30 in the fourth quarter with 10 minutes left in the game.
However, Andress finished strong, scoring the final 14 points of the game. Centennial falls to 0-2.
