With the 2026-27 high school sports seasonapproaching, the El Paso Times will give readers a chance to vote to select El Paso's top athletes and teams.

This week, readers can vote for the Boys Athlete of the Week in football and cross country for the week of Sept. 22-26.

Here are this week's nominees:

Andrew Flanagan, Eastwood football. In a win vs. Eastlake, he had seven tackles, two sacks, and a fumble recovery for a score.
Eric Hernandez, Del Valle football. In a win vs. Americas, Hernandez completed 22 of 26 passes for 336 yards and four touchdown passes.
Carlos Rojas, III, Riverside football. In win vs. Seminole, Rojas III rushed for 389 yards and scored four times. He also passed for 111 yards and threw a touchdown pass.
Mateo Villarreal, Ysleta football. In win vs. Mountain View, the defensive end had eight total tackles, one sack and one quarterback hurry.
Isaac Anaya, Socorro football. In close loss to Coronado, Amaya passed for 418 yards and threw four TD passes.
Nolan Montion, Coronado football. In win vs. Socorro, Montion threw four TD passes and had 219 passing yards.
Vincent Delgado, San Elizario football. In win vs. Irvin, he had 120 yards rushing and a rushing TD.
Julio Martinez, Fabens football. In win vs. Tornillo, he had 176 rushing yards and scored three times.
Dominic Beard, Pebble Hills football. In victory vs. Montwood, nine total tackles, three tackles for a loss, a QB hurry and an interception for a touchdown.
Aavant Clayton, Andress football. In win vs. Burges, Clayton caught a TD pass and returned a punt for a score.
Noah Garcia, Eastywood cross country. Garcia took first place at the Desert Twilight event in Arizona.
