A semitrailer crash closed a rain-slicked section of Interstate 10 and street flooding on Montana Avenue caused major traffic congestion as a thunderstorm moved through different parts of El Paso.
A semitrailer crashed into the center concrete barrier at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, on I-10 West near Paisano Drive east of the Spaghetti Bowl in Central El Paso, according to Texas Department of Transportation highway cameras.

The westbound lanes of I-10 were closed as well as the left two eastbound lanes creating a major traffic back up extending east almost to Airway Boulevard, according to a TxDOT traffic map as of 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
In the far East Side, flooding closed
the westbound lanes of Montana Avenue near Tierra Este Road and Justice Road, TxDOT reported.
The same section of Montana, which is under construction, was closed due to high water after a rain on Saturday.
