Internal polling shows Republican Ken Paxton taking the lead in the Texas U.S. Senate battle.
The new poll from Pulse Decision Science released Tuesday, Sept. 29, shows Paxton outpacing his Democrat rival, James Talarico, 48% to 45%. The poll surveyed 800 likely voters between Sept. 24 and Sept. 27.
Pulse Decision Science is a conservative polling, data and behavioral science firm based in Washington, D.C.

The new poll is the first in weeks to show Paxton leading Talarico ahead of their showdown in the Nov. 3 General Election. The winner will replace outgoing John Cornyn, R-Texas, in the U.S. Senate.
The poll found that the share of undecided voters has dropped from 11% in May to just 4% only weeks before the election and those voters are shifting
toward Paxton.
“Texans are learning more about James Talarico's radical record every day, and undecided voters continue to break toward General Paxton," said Nick Maddux, Paxton's senior advisor, in a news release. "James Talarico has spent his campaign hiding behind a friendly smile, but Texans are seeing through it and know that his support for raising taxes and dismantling Texas oil and gas would drive up our gas prices, electricity bills, and housing costs.”
“That’s why Ken Paxton is leading and will win this race," he continued, "No matter how much the mainstream media attempts to depress the Republican base with misleading public polls designed to usher in a nonexistent blue wave in Texas.”
