Legendary Canutillo High School football coach Scott Brooks reached an historic milestone in the District 1-5A, Division 2 opener against Del Valle.
Brooks' Eagles defeated the Conquistadores, 28-12, at Canutillo High School to give Brooks his 200th career win on Friday, Oct.9.
The 2026 season is the final for Brooks, who is retiring. He began his head coaching career at Canutillo in 1999 and it includes a 13-2 season in 2014 and a trip to the Class 5A, Division 2 state semifinals.
Brooks is the second in his family to win 200 games his high school coaching career, joining his father Don, who won 228 games.
Canutillo took a 21-6 lead behind two touchdown runs from Sylss Reyes and an interception for a score by defensive back Christian Huerta.

is 5-1 overall and 1-0 in district and Del Vall e is 3-3 overall and 0-1 in district.

What's next for Canutillo and Del Valle
Canutillo plays at Jefferson at 6:30 p.m. on Thursdfay, Oct. 15 and Del Valle is at home vs. El Paso High at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16.
