With 11 seniors on the 2026 roster, the Andress High School volleyball team appears primed to make a run at the District 1-4A title.
The Eagles looked every bit the part of a championship caliber team on Tuesday, Aug. 25 with a four-set win vs. visiting Jefferson, 25-19, 18-25, 25-19, 25-18.
Andress and Jefferson are old District 1-5A rivals, but Andress moved down to Class 4A in the latest Texas UIL realignment.
Andress talented hitters Jazmyne Grimes, Alena Suber, Sarai Duncan and Aaliyah Hatten were the difference in Tuesday's win. All four proved too much for the Jefferson defense to stop.
"Our experience and depth at the hitting position are big for us," Andress coach Lorena Gonzalez said.
