Republican U.S. Senate candidate Ken Paxton is returning to El Paso only days before the Nov. 3 election.
Paxton's campaign will visit El Paso on Sunday, Nov. 1, as part of its "Come and Take It" tour at the Orca Event Venue at 11323 Rojas Drive. Doors open at 3: 30 p.m., and the rally will kick off shortly thereafter.
Paxton is locked in a tight contest against Democrat James Talarico for a chance to replace outgoing U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, in the upper chamber of Congress. Polls have consistently shown Paxton trailing his Democratic opponent, as some Republicans have been reluctant to back the scandal-plagued attorney general.

The latest campaign stop in El Paso marks Paxton's second in just over a month. The Republican held a rally Sept.
30 alongside Texas Republican congressional candidate Brandon Herrera, where he touted his "Protecting the Texas Promise" economic agenda and accused Talarico of being "the most radical Democrat to ever run statewide in Texas."
The upcoming rally is one of 30 Paxton is undertaking as part of his "Come and Take It" tour, which kicked off Oct. 17 in Rockwall and closes Monday, Nov. 2, with a stop at The Alamo in San Antonio.
Paxton's rally comes only days after Talarico's final appearance in El Paso on Monday, Oct. 26.
