Transmountain Road in El Paso closed after two-vehicle collision

Transmountain Road has been closed in both directions due to a two-vehicle collision, authorities said.

The eastbound and westbound lanes of the mountain pass are closed on the West Side and the Northeast sides after a collision occurred shortly before 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31, on the Northeast side, the Texas Department of Transportation and the El Paso County Sheriff's Office said.

There is no estimated time of reopening and drivers should expect delays and seek alternate routes, the Sheriff's Office stated.
