The 2026 All American Futurity at the Downs at Albuquerque is upon us, but it will be the final one in New Mexico for the foreseeable future.
The historic $3 million, 440-yard race will take place on Monday, Sept. 7, in Albuquerque for the third straight year due to flooding issues that caused significant damage at Ruidoso Downs Race Track and Casino and prevented the race from being held there.
All American Futurity moving to Texas beginning in 2027
Ruidoso Downs Race Track General Manager Rick Baugh announced that owners Johnny and Jana Trotter have agreed on a framework with Global Gaming Solutions to move the Quarter Horse Racing Triple Crown Series, the All-American Super Select Sale and the Ruidoso Downs Hall of Fame to Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas, beginning in 2027.

What time will the 2026 All American Futurity start?
The All American Futurity is scheduled to start at 6:15 p.m. and will be race No. 10. The first race of the day is scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m. There are 10 races total on the card, including the 440-yard All American Juvenile Stakes for 2-year-old quarter horses and the 440-yard All American Gold Cup for older quarter horses.
Tempting Lu, Jess a Bad Lil Cat scratched from All American Futurity
Tempting Lu and Jess A Bad Lil Cat have been scratched from the 2026 All American Futurity, New Mexico Racing Commission Executive Director Izzy Trejo confirmed.
The two horses were veterinarian-listed scratches according to Trejo.
