With the 2026-27 high school sports seasonapproaching, the El Paso Times will give readers a chance to vote to select El Paso's top athletes and teams.
This week, readers can vote for the Boys Athlete of the Week in football and cross country for the week of Aug. 25-29.

Here are this week's nominees:
- D'Angelo Garcia, Irvin football. He had 11 catches for 195 yards and two TD catches in the win vs. Santa Teresa.
- Davion Arnette, Jefferson football. In win vs. Bowie, he passed for 121 yards, rushed for 62 yards, had 12 tackles, and a sack on defense.
- Corwon Martin, Chapin football. In win vs. Franklin, he had 113 yards receiving, caught a TD pass and rushed for a TD.
- Carlos Rojas III, Riverside football. In the game vs. Parkland, he had 253 yards of total offense and accounted for five touchdowns.
- Cesar Morales, Jr., San Elizario cross country. He placed first at the SISD cross country meet.
- Angel Monks, Cathedral football. In win vs. NMMI, Monks rushed for 103 yards and forced a fumble
- Julian Williams, Eastlake football. In win vs. Del Valle, Williams passed for 339 yards and threw three TD passes. He also rushed for 74 yards and two scores.
- Alex Robles, Hanks football. In win vs. Montwood, he caught five passes for 159 yards and two scores.
- Max Smith, El Dorado football. In the win vs. Coronado, he had 14 total tackles and an interception.
- Fernie Ceniceros, San Elizario football. Against Anthony, he finished with six solo sacks, three QB hurries, and two sacks.
- Omar Jaquez, Pebble Hills football. He finished with six total tackles, two sacks, and three QB hurries vs. Midland High.
- LJ Bailey, Pebble Hills football. He caught two TD passes and had 101 yards receiving vs. Midland High.
