A newly restored concert film featuring Juan Gabriel's performance at the prestigious Bella Artes theater will be coming to theaters.
"Juan Gabriel: Mi Primer Bellas Artes" is coming to Cinemark theaters on Sept. 15, which coincides with Hispanic Heritage Month. It is also marking 10 years since Juan Gabriel died on Aug. 28, 2016. It was the day he was supposed to perform in El Paso.
Juan Gabriel originally performed four concerts at Bellas Artes in Mexico City, May 9-12, 1990.

It was a major event in Juan Gabriel's musical career, as some believed the theater was designed for classical
music rather than popular music. Nevertheless, Juan Gabriel's performances were successful, sold-out shows and were recorded for an album.
His songs were arranged for the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional, with mariachi and vocal elements incorporated into the production.
The film project incorporates material from Juan Gabriel's personal archives, including previously unseen rehearsal footage.
