After months of campaigning for the highest office in the state, Gov. Greg Abbott and Democratic candidate Gina Hinojosa are seeing some separation in a new poll.
Republican Gov. Greg Abbott is leading his Democratic challenger, Gina Hinojosa, by seven points, 48% to 41%, with 8% of voters undecided, according to
The Mason-Dixon had a 4-point margin of error, with Libertarian Pat Dixon at 1% and Independent Jenn Mack Raphoon at 2%. It surveyed 625 registered Texas voters Sept. 8-10 who said they are likely to vote in the November 2026 election.
Abbott has focused his public messaging on his policy record rather than addressing specific polling numbers in the Texas governor race. His campaign has pointed to historical trends from past election cycles
and advantages in campaign resources to address discussions surrounding the race.
The latest numbers come on the heels of an N+ Univision/YouGov poll released Sept. 9that shows the race for Texas Governor is tied at 47%-47%, as Hinojosa continues to gain ground on Abbott despite being outspent 10-to-1.
