Costco is expanding its footprint in Texas, with two new warehouses set to open.
The August openings are part of Costco's nationwide expansion plans. The retailer is adding seven new U.S. warehouses this month, with Texas the only state receiving two locations. Additional stores are set to open in New York, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Georgia and Missouri.
Known for its wide selection of bulk items and low prices, Costco has built a loyal following among shoppers — and not just for its merchandise. Its food court is famous for offerings including its pizza and $1.50 hot dog-and-soda combo, a longtime favorite that has stood the test of time.
Where are the new Costco stores in Texas?
Mansfield Costco
The new Mansfield Costco will be located at 1500 U.S. 287, near the intersection of West FM 917 and Corral Road.
It is scheduled Aug. 25.
Celina Costco
Celina is also getting its first Costco warehouse. The approximately 158,000-square-foot store is being built at Preston Road and Ownsby Parkway as part of The Village at Ownsby Farm. It is scheduled to open Aug. 26.
Costco continues Texas expansion
The two new warehouses come as Costco continues expanding its U.S. presence.
The retailer has said it expects to open more than 25 new stores in the U.S. in 2026, with the company targeting roughly 30 new locations annually.
Costco operates warehouse stores where members can buy groceries, household products, appliances, electronics and other merchandise, often in larger quantities than at traditional retailers.
The company also has been testing new checkout technology at some U.S. warehouses, including Automated Pay Stations designed to speed up the payment process for shoppers with large carts.
