The college football season arrives for real this week after an opening appetizer of eight Week 0 games, with a full slate of matchups that mostly serve as a warmup to next week when powerhouse matchups (Ohio State-Texas, Oklahoma-Michigan) start to arrive.
Ohio State and Notre Dame enter as favorites to win what is still a 12-team playoff, while Notre Dame quarterback CJ Carr and Texas quarterback Arch Manning are Heisman favorites.
The FBS is back to 10 conferences with a reconstituted PAC-12 with eight teams, and a completely reshuffled Mountain West. Here is a quick primer.
