Democratic U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico is once again taking his message directly to Black voters across Texas.
Talarico's campaign announced the launch of two new ads Tuesday, Oct. 13. The ads, which are set to run statewide on digital platforms and Black radio stations, are the latest in Talarico's effort to get Black voters to the polls for his Nov. 3 showdown with Republican Ken Paxton.
The first ad, entitled "Care," focuses on Talarico's work in the Texas House of Representatives to cap the cost of insulin in Texas.

"Too many Texans are forced to choose between medicine and groceries," Talarico says in the ad. "My faith teaches me that we care for the sick, not profit off of them — so I took on Big Pharma and helped cap insulin co-pays
at $25 a month here in Texas."
"I'm ready to take that fight to Washington," he added.
The second ad, entitled "Something That Lasts," touts Talarico's work in the Texas Legislature to lower the cost of housing, health care and property taxes, something he plans to continue if elected to the U.S. Senate.
"I'll work to open real access to capital for Black-owned businesses to help families build up so they have something to pass down," Talarico says in the ad. "Families need a senator that respects their work instead of standing in their way."
"That's not Ken Paxton," he continues. "His office went to court to pull up the ladder on Black business owners while the wealth gap just gets bigger. Texas, we deserve better."
Ken Paxton not targeting Texas Black voters
Paxton's team has so far not launched an ad campaign aimed at Black voters ahead of the General Election. His focus has been on rallying voters to boost rural and conservative turnout.
