For a second time in three years, the UTEP men’s basketball team is going to Mexico for tune-up games.
UTEP is set to take on Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez on Monday, Aug. 3, and the professional team, the Indios de Juárez, on Tuesday, Aug. 4. The 7 p.m. tips will be at UACJ’s gym, and admission is free.

In 2024, the Miners had a practice at UACJ and later traveled to an exhibition game at Universidad Autonoma de Chihuahua, which they won big.
”Our guys are excited about getting into a competitive setting after two months of taking at one another in practice,” UTEP coach Joe Golding said. “We’d like to thank our friends at UACJ for providing us with this opportunity.
This will be a tremendous team-building experience for our brand new team.”
