What is the story about?
The
start of the 2026 high school football season has been very good to the Eastwood Troopers, who are ranked No. 1 in El Paso.
On Friday, Sept. 4, the Troopers won their Homecoming game, 49-17, vs. Canutillo. Eastwood is the defending District 1-6A champion.
Eastwood scored 21 straight points and overcame two turnovers to lead 21-7 at the halftime break and added four scores in the second half.
The Troopers improve to 2-0 and Canutillo falls to 1-1. In their season opener vs. Bel Air on Aug. 28, the Troopers scored 65 points.
