The National Weather Service issued a flood warning for the Rio Grande in El Paso cautioning about minor flooding overflowing in parts of the river.
The flood warning was issued at 10:49 p.m. Wednesday,
Sept. 30, and is in place until late Thursday night with the potential for flooding of roads next to the river, the NWS El Paso said in a statement.
No major flooding was expected due to levee protection, the NWS added.

The NWS stated that flooding may lead to road closures on Paisano Drive near Executive Center in West El Paso.
Texas Department of Transportation highway cameras late Wednesday night showed a full river in between El Paso and Sunland Park, New Mexico.
Across the border in Juárez, river water was spilling into the traffic lanes of Bernardo Norzagaray Boulevard near Tortugas Park, the city's civil protection department said in a news release. The riverside street remained open but motorists were advised to use caution.

The Sunland Park Fire Department on Wednesday night reported via Facebook post that the river overflow had reached Paisano Drive and was rising and that the McNutt Road bridge over the river was closed.
The city of Sunland Park asked people to stay away from the Rio Grande levee, including the River Levee Park and Trail near Racetrack Drive to Country Club Road.
The Rio Grande began overflowing in Las Cruces leading to the closure of La Llorona Park earlier on Wednesday as water flows from flooding traveled downstream toward El Paso.
