Streets in Union Plaza next to the El Paso convention center will be closed as a "honky-tonk fiesta" comes to Downtown with the Way Out West Fest this weekend.
The country music street festival will take place Saturday, Sept. 26, which is forecast to be partly sunny and without rain after days of thunderstorms this week.
Street closures will start at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, until 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, according to an email sent to nearby businesses, including the El Paso Times.
The Greyhound bus station and the Union Plaza Transit Terminal Parking Garage will still have access.
The Way Out West Fest will shut down San Antonio Avenue next to the convention
center between Santa Fe Street and Leon Street. Other closures include:
- Chihuahua Street will be closed between San Antonio Avenue and Overland Street.
- Overland Street will be closed between Leon Street and Chihuahua Street
- Leon Street will be closed between San Antonio Avenue and Overland Street.
The Way Out West Fest headliner is country music star Cole Swindell and features Mike Ryan, Breland and Julia Cole on the main stage.
The festival includes the Lucchese Bootmaker Local Stage, a Cowboy Cantina and other events.
