The historic All American Futurity will no longer be a staple of New Mexico horse racing after 2026.
Ruidoso Downs Race Track General Manager Rick Baugh announced that owners Johnny and Jana Trotter
have agreed on a framework with Global Gaming Solutions to move the Quarter Horse Racing Triple Crown Series, the All-American Super Select Sale and the Ruidoso Downs Hall of Fame to Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas, beginning in 2027.The announcement was made Thursday, Sept. 3.
The Triple Crown Series includes the $1 million Ruidoso Futurity, the $1 million Rainbow Futurity and the $3 million All-American Futurity. Both parties expect to finalize the agreement in the coming weeks.
The 2026 All American Futurity is scheduled for Sept. 7, 2026 at
the Downs at Albuquerque.
The previous two All American Futurities were also held in Albuquerque because of flood damage at the Ruidoso track.
