More than 120,000 cases of Gatorade sold across 37 states have been recalled. Texas is on the list of recalled products.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has recalled the cases because they contain
undeclared food coloring that could pose a health risk to some consumers.
The recall, classified by the FDA as a Class II recall on Oct. 2, includes 122,021 cases of 28-oz. bottles of Gatorade Lemon Lime, Gatorade Lemon Lime Zero, Gatorade Orange and Gatorade Orange Zero. PepsiCo initiated the recall on Sept. 25 because the products contain unlisted food colorings Yellow No. 5 and/or Yellow No. 6.
According to the FDA, a Class II recall is a situation in which use or exposure to a "violative product" may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.
