The second week of the 2026 high school football season is in the books and there were several top performances by athletes in El Paso.
Here is a look at 15 of the top performances on Thursday, Sept. 3,
and Friday, Sept. 4.
Maurice Edwards, QB, Americas
In 57-55 loss to Andress, Edwards rushed for 377 yards and scored eight touchdowns. He also passed for 100 yards.
Jacob Llamas, QB, Cathedral
In win vs. San Elizario, he threw three touchdown passes and had 246 yards passing.
Abel Jimenez, WR/DB, Anthony
In 28-22 loss to Cobre (NM), Jimenez had 68 yards receiving, including a 35-yard touchdown pass, and four tackles, a tackle for a loss and a forced fumble.
Erik Hernandez, QB, Del Valle
In win vs. Montwood, he threw for 238 yards, had three TD passes and rushed for a touchdown.
Julian Williams, QB, Eastlake
In 48-43 victory vs. El Dorado, Williams passed for 324 yards, rushed for 74 yards and threw three touchdowns.
Jordan Morales, QB, Hanks
In win vs. Bowie, Morales passed for 203 yards and three touchdowns.
Carlos Rojas III, QB, Riverside
In victory vs. Irvin, Rojas threw two touchdown passesand rushed for 145 yards and two scores.
Zac Adams, LB, Eastwood
Inhome win vs. Canutillo, he had 17 tackles and helped team limit the Eagles to 17 points.
Matthew Ramirez, RB, Eastwood
In win vs. Canutillo, he rushed for 300 yards on 21 carries and scored three touchdowns.
Isaiah Aguilera, RB, Horizon
In 28-27 win vs. Mountain View, Aguilera rushed for 261 yards on 40 carries and scored three touchdowns.
Elijah Cooper, WR, Andress
In 57-55 victory vs. Americas, he caught five passes for 131 yards and two TD passes. He also caught the winning touchdown.
Jamari Milton, QB, Andress
In 57-55 win vs. Americas,he completed 26 of 32 passes for 369 yards and four touchdown passes.
LJ Bailey, WR, Pebble Hills
In 35-14 win vs. Chapin, Bailey caught two touchdown passes.
Elijah Martinez, DB, Canutillo
In road loss at Eastwood, Martinez returned an interception 95 yards for a touchdown.
Hector Holguin, EB, San Elizario
In loss to Cathedral, he rushed for 101 yards and scored two touchdowns.
