Republican U.S. Senate candidate is taking aim at his General Election opponent in a new ad.
Paxton released his latest AI-fueled ad in the Texas U.S. Senate battle Tuesday, Sept. 8, which is set to run nationally on the conservative news outlet Newsmax as the Republican Party's midterm convention unfolds in Dallas, Texas.
The ad, entitled "King James," targets Democratic U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico for his "radical statements insulting faith and Christianity," according to a news release from Paxton's campaign.

“I’ve never seen someone so willing to weaponize faith to sell a radical agenda. Talarico even brags about hating Christianity,” Paxton said in a news release. “He’s used faith to justify putting boys in girls’ sports and even transitioning
Texas kids. He’s stated you can’t be a Christian and work in the oil and gas industry. His views are an insult to millions of faithful Texans, and it’s time for his extremist views to be exposed.”
Talarico has not yet commented on Paxton's attack ad.
The ad focuses on multiple statements Talarico has made throughout the campaign, including stating that "God is non-binary" and calling himself a "Christian that hates Christianity." Talarico has also claimed that "Jesus was a feminist" and "Jesus never asked us to worship him."
"James Talarico, wrong for Texas …," the ad states as it closes. "And wrong for America too."
Talarico has also launched his first negative ad of the General Election campaign season, which takes aim at Paxton's myriad scandals, including increasing his net worth by 7,000% while earning a government salary, accumulating 15 homes while an affordability crisis bears down on most Texans, and being impeached by his own party for taking bribes.
