Gatorade distributed in more than two dozen states, including Texas, has been recalled.
More than 120,000 cases of Gatorade were recalled Oct. 2 after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said the drinks contained undeclared food coloring that could pose a risk to some consumers — the products contain unlisted food colorings Yellow No. 5 and/or Yellow No. 6.
Yellow 5 is an artificial food dye added to processed pastries, brightly colored soda, and colored candy, according to Healthline. Studies have found a possible link between fruit juices containing a mix of AFCs and hyperactive symptoms in children, Healthline reports. Yellow 6 can be found in many of the same products that contain Yellow 5.
According to the FDA, a Class II recall is a situation
in which use or exposure to a "violative product" may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.
Here's what to know about the products being recalled and the states it was sold in.
