It's been a difficult month for restaurants in El Paso, as two more East Side restaurants — Buen Dia and a Hooters — announced closures.
Last week, La Fête Cafe announced on its Facebook page that its last day of operation was Oct. 11.Rudy's Country Store and Bar-B-Q, a popular Texas franchise, closed its West El Paso location at 6401 S. Desert Blvd. on Oct. 3.

The closures are part of a string of restaurant shutdowns in El Paso over the past few months. Other restaurants that have closed include The Melting Pot and the International Bar.
Here is what to know about the latest closures.
Buen Dia on Zaragoza closes
Buen Dia at 2260 N. Zaragoza Road has closed and put up a notice on the door. The sign on the restaurant door encourages patrons to frequent other related businesses,
like Well Made Kitchen and Bar, where Crave used to be, at 11990 Rojas Drive E.
Buen Dia is owned by the Pan y Agua Restaurant Group and first opened in January of 2023. The group also ownedA Toda Mar, a seafood restaurant at 12890 Eastlake Blvd. that closed this summer after opening in late 2025. The restaurant building was sold, and two new businesses are planning to open there — Don Cuco and Roll In Flautas.

Restauranteur Rudy Valdes, who opened the Crave restaurants and is part of the restaurant group, has said in previous interviews that they remain positive and have a passion for creating new restaurant concepts.
The group still owns Neighbor Good Kitchen & Bar, at 801 N. Piedras St. in Central El Paso, focusing on border favorites.
Hooters El Paso East closes
Hooters El Paso East has suddenly also closed, with its Facebook account listing it as permanently closed.
The popular wings restaurant opened in 2023 in a former Cattle Baron restaurant at 1799 Joe Battle Blvd.

Hooters is still closing restaurants across the country this year even after bankruptcy restructuring. The chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in early 2025.
