A car crash, video and information from the public lead Socorro police detectives to arrest the man in the Denver Broncos jersey accused in a Socorro gas station armed robbery earlier this year.
Christopher Aaron Olivas, 22, was arrested on an aggravated robbery charge accused in an April 24 stickup of a Murphy USA gas station at 10261 Alameda Ave. near Rio Vista Road, a Socorro police news release stated.
The Socorro Police Department Street Crime Unit along with Texas Rangers and Texas Department of Public Safety investigators arrested Olivas on Friday, Sept. 18, at a construction site in the 1500 block of Michelangelo Drive in far East El Paso.

into the El Paso County jail in Downtown on a $75,000 bond. No attorney is listed for him.
On 12:20 a.m. on April 24, the Murphy USA gas station was robbed by a man wearing an orange Denver Broncos jersey with the number 94 and a blue face covering the bottom of his face, Crime Stoppers had said.
The robber displayed a black handgun with an extended magazine and stole money from the cash register before leaving in a black two-door Mercedes-Benz car, police said.
The robbery had been unsolved for months until it was featured in August as Crime Stoppers of El Paso's Crime of the Week and police received information that helped the investigation.
During a teleconference bond hearing on Sunday, Sept. 20, an assistant district attorney said that the Texas Rangers worked with Socorro police detectives and allegedly identified Olivas after obtaining video showing the robbery suspect was involved in a car accident and then seen getting into another vehicle, which was tracked down by investigators.
