U.S. Soccer will face Canada as the team wraps up a very successful international window to start the 2030 World Cup campaign.
Things will not get easier for the U.S. Men's National Team after a hard-fought match against Mexico as they take the pitch against Canada. The U.S.-Canada rivalry has become heated in recent years.
The USMNT is ranked 16th in FIFA's rankings, while Canada is 27th. Here is what to know as the U.S. and Canada take the field.
US Soccer, Canada: When to watch
The U.S.-Canada game starts at 6 p.m. MT/7 p.m. CT on Tuesday, Oct. 6.
Where to watch USA vs Canada?
The game will be televised on TNT and truTV, and live-streamed on HBO Max in English. It will be broadcast in Spanish on Universo and live-streamed on Peacock.
USMNT vs. Canada soccer takes over Allianz Field
The game will be played at Allianz Field in St. Paul, Minnesota. US fans
should outnumber Canadian fans, unlike the U.S.-Mexico game on Saturday, Oct. 3, in Arizona.
Canada coach Jesse Marsch fuels US rivalry
Canada coach Jesse Marsch continues to make headlines talking badly about U.S. Soccer after being passed over for the USMNT head coaching job in 2023.
Marsch claimed that one of the reasons "why everyone hates America" is because of what happened at the 2026 World Cup when President Donald Trump is believed to have been the cause of USMNT star Folarin Balogun's controversial red card being overturned.
“We, as Americans, have been inundated with propaganda since we were young," Marsch told The Guardian in a Monday, Oct. 5, interview. "We’re the No. 1 country in the world, we deserve everything, we dominate everything, No. 1 in every aspect of life. This is what we’ve been told. So, when things happen and we don’t feel like we’re in control of it … we feel like we deserve to be treated differently because we’re Americans. That is one of the things that infuriates the rest of the world about Americans. And Americans don’t know that if they don’t ever leave the country.
“So what I feel when the Balogun ruling happens is that would never happen in any other country in the world, and this is why everyone around the world hates America. That was proven to be so. The U.S. had had a good World Cup, was doing well. All that switched in one moment. But do I think that that’s about corruption and unfairness? The problem is, football is inundated with this kind of stuff.”
US beats Mexico, Peru, Chile in international friendlies
The game against Canada will end the September-October international window. This has been one of the best windows the USMNT has had under coach Mauricio Pochettino.
They started the window by beating Peru 4-1 on Sept. 26 and Chile 4-2 on Sept. 29. They crushed Mexico 3-0, earning the team's first clean sheet of the window.
USMNT vs Haiti in Concacaf Nations League
The next international window is in November, with the 2026–27 CONCACAF Nations League quarterfinals. The U.S. will play Haiti on Nov. 17.
