Ysleta High School volleyball coach Charlie Sanchez never wavers in challenging his Class 4A program.
The Indians displayed plenty of grit Tuesday, Aug. 18, overcoming an opening-set loss to beat Class 6A Pebble Hills 24-26, 25-18, 25-21, 25-23 at home.
Prior to Tuesday's home game, his team lost in five sets to Class 6A Socorro and defeated two Class 5A teams, Burges and Del Valle.
The Indians are the defending District 2-4A champions.

"We don't back away from challenges. Pebble Hills is a solid team," Sanchez said. "Our kids are tough and fight for every point. I don't think we get enough credit across the city. Our kids work for everything."
Junior outside hitter Abby Martinez tied her own school record in a single match with 25 kills to lead
