El Paso'sDrew Gonzalezkeeps having an amazing summer.
The 2026 Americas High School graduate was named second team All-Texas by Txhighschoolbaseball.com on Saturday, July 25.
Gonzalez was also named All-State
by the Texas High School Baseball Coaches in June after helping the Trailblazers to the Class 5A Region 1 championship series where it lost to Aledo.
Gonzalez was selected in the sixth round of the Major League Baseball draft by the New York Yankees and signed with the team to begin his pro career.
Gonzalez had 56 hits, scored 66 runs, stole 20 bases and was a standout third baseman and shortstop.
El Pasoan commits to New Mexico State
Dylan Torres, who was a standout baseball player at Pebble Hills High School, has committed to Division I New Mexico State in Las Cruces.
The 6-foot, 175-pound Torres spent the spring of 2026 pitching for Cochise College in Arizona and went 5-0 with 37 strikeots in 13 appearances.
Torres will join 2026 Coronado High graduate Walt Mann as El Pasoans on the NMSU roster for the 2027 season.
