A new luxury housing option is coming to El Paso's West Side.
Cimarron Park is planning to build a sizable apartment complex on Northern Pass Drive.
Nationally, the need for apartments has been on the rise for several reasons, including rising home payments and rents, a lag in the supply of new homes and shifts in demographics and market trends.
Where is it?
The new apartment complex will be located at 7451 Northern Pass Drive on El Paso's West
Side, according to the city's permit and licensing page.
The new complex is located in a largely residential area not far from Reyes Elementary School. A few blocks away in one direction are Paella 915 and Mesa Glow Bath and Body Co. In the other direction are Nomel Restaurant, Children Pediatric Practice and Cimarron Dental Studio.
What was there before?
The new apartment complex is being atop a currently vacant lot.
Plans call for the construction of a total of seven three-story, wood-framed, multi-family apartment buildings with attached garages, two in one style and five in another. Additionally, construction includes four two-story, big-house apartment buildings with attached garages.
In all, the project will include 240 units, a detached clubhouse and amenity space, as well as a maintenance building.
Who is the contractor?
The city's website does not list the contractor, but the applicant for the project is Verenis Saucedo of Humphreys and Partners Architects in Plano, Texas. The owner is listed as Cimarron Park in El Paso.
The project is valued at $25 million.
