Week 4 of the high school football season is here. Teams will play 10 regular-season games with one week off.
Here is a look at the games scheduled for this week: Thursday, Sept. 17 and Friday, Sept. 18.
Socorro (2-1) vs. El Paso High (1-2), 6:30 p.m. Thursday at El Paso High HS
Socorro continues to show improvement and has done well on the offensive side of the ball, with several talented skill-position players. Socorro 42, El Paso High 28
Austin (3-0) vs. Irvin (2-1), 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Irvin HS
The Panthers have allowed just 28 points in their three wins. The Rockets are coming off a solid win vs. Jefferson. Austin 27, Irvin 20
Riverside (2-1) vs. Bowie (0-3), 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Bowie HS
The Rangers have had a big season so far on offense, including scoring 44 points in win vs. Chapin. Riverside 48, Bowie 27.
Eastwood (2-1) vs. Americas (1-2), 7 p.m. Thursday at SAC 1
The Troopers are solid in all phases of the game. Americas is led by QB Maurice Edwards, who, through three games of the season
might be the most exciting player in El Paso. Edwards has rushed for 11 touchdowns in the last two games. Eastwood 48, Americas 35
Eastlake (3-0) vs. Bel Air (1-2), 7 p.m. Friday at Bel Air HS
The Falcons are good on offense and are coming off one of their best wins in school history vs. Midland Lee. Bel Air looked solid in its first win of the season vs. El Paso High last week. Eastlake 45, Bel Air 31
El Dorado (1-2) vs. Burges (1-2), 7 p.m. Friday at Burges HS
The Aztecs are solid on offense and have scored 28, 35 and 43 points in their three games and will be tough to stop in this one. El Dorado 49, Burges 35
Montwood (0-3) vs. San Angelo Central (1-2), 6 p.m. Friday at Andrews HS
The Rams made some progress in their loss to Americas and face a stiff challenge vs. the Bobcats, who are coming off a seven-point loss to Abilene Cooper. San Angelo Central 49, Montwood 38
Pebble Hills (3-0) vs. Odessa Permian (3-0), 6 p.m. Friday at Ratliff Stadium in Odessa
The two teams are playing at a high level and are 6-0 combined. The Panthers have scored 38, 41 and 45 points. Pebble Hills already owns a win vs. another District 2-6A team, Midland High. Odessa Permian 41, Pebble Hills 34
Chapin (1-2) vs. Andress (3-0), 7 p.m. Friday at Andress HS
Andress has won three tightly contested games to start the season. Both teams have wins vs. Franklin and both teams have talented quarterbacks. Game will come down to turnovers and special teams. Andress 35, Chapin 31
San Elizario (2-1) vs. Mountain View (1-2), 7 p.m. Friday at Mountain View HS
The Lobos could easily be 3-0 with two losses by a combined three points. The Eagles are coming off solid win vs. Clint. Mountain View 31, San Elizario 28
Ysleta (3-0) vs. Hanks (2-1), 7 p.m. Friday at Hanks HS
The Knights have a powerful offense, having scored 44, 55 and 63 points in its first three games. Ysleta is off to another good start this season with two wins vs. out-of-town teams, Big Spring and Fort Stockton. Hanks 45, Ysleta 31
Cathedral (3-0) vs. Clint (0-3), 7 p.m. Friday at Clint HS
Cathedral keeps getting better and better each week behind a good offense. Cathedral 31, Clint 20
Fabens (1-2) vs. Jefferson (1-2), 7 p.m. Friday at Jefferson HS
Jefferson is much improved this season and will be tough to beat in its Homecoming game. The Silver Foxes nearly defeated Irvin last week, losing 23-19. Jefferson 34, Fabens 21
Horizon (1-2) vs. Canutillo (2-1), 7 p.m. Friday at Canutillo HS
The Eagles are 2-1 against a solid non-district schedule and are doing good things on the defensive side of the ball. Canutillo 38, Horizon 23
Parkland (1-2) vs. Franklin (0-3), 7 p.m. Friday at Franklin HS
Despite an 0-3 start, Franklin seems to be improving. The Cougars nearly defeated a strong Andress team, losing 20-17 on Sept. 11. Franklin 35, Parkland 21
Coronado (1-2) vs. Del Valle (2-1), 7 p.m. Friday at Del Valle HS
The Conquistadores are off to a strong start with lots of new players. Coronado is solid on defense and will be looking for its second straight win. Del Valle 31, Coronado 24
Anthony (0-3) vs. Van Horn (2-1), 6 p.m. Friday at Van Horn HS
Anthony has shown improvement in the first three games of the season. Can the Wildcats now breakthrough for a win? Anthony 27, Van Horn 24
