For this moment, the Dallas Cowboys have their initial 53-man roster.
Like all 32 teams in the NFL, the Cowboys made final cuts from their 90-man training camp roster by trimming off 35 players who now become unrestricted free agents and moving two more to the injured reserve/designated to return list.
Starting at 11 a.m. MT/noon CT Monday, Aug. 31, teams can sign up to 17 players to practice squads (16 plus another if the 17th is on the international player pathway) and between now and then, every team will be looking over the cuts of the other 31 teams, so nothing is 100% settled yet for Week 1.
The major surprises were cutting running back Jaydon Blue, who seems very likely
to be added to the practice squad, and edge Sam Williams. Here is the 53-man roster as of Sunday, Aug. 30.
