A collection of 10 one-bedroom vacation bungalows overlooking Heron Lagoon on Siesta Key has hit the market for $4.5 million.
Located at 8212 Midnight Pass Road in Sarasota County, the Siesta Key Bungalows
was listed for sale Oct. 14. The property features pink buildings dating to the 1950s, tropical vegetation and accommodations overlooking either the lagoon or a landscaped courtyard, according to the real estate listing. The asking price works out to $450,000 per rental unit.
The property fronts Heron Lagoon, with amenities that include a dock, a heated pool and outdoor gathering spaces, according to marketing materials. Guests can also kayak and canoe on the lagoon, according to the listing.
The layout spreads the accommodations among several
buildings, offering what marketing materials describe as a “low-density” guest experience.
Erick Shumway, the agent representing the property, highlighted its waterfront setting, resort amenities and established lodging operation in the listing.
“Sarasota continues to attract visitors, seasonal residents, and second-home owners due to its beaches, arts and cultural institutions, recreational amenities, and year-round tourism activity,” Shumway wrote.
He also described the property’s combination of lodging accommodations and waterfront access as potential draws for investors seeking a hospitality business on a barrier island.
The property is also advertised on William Raveis Real Estate’s website, which carries the listing courtesy of RE/MAX Alliance Group.
Where are the Siesta Key Bungalows?
The bungalows sit on southern Siesta Key along Midnight Pass Road, near Turtle Beach. The waterfront setting is on Heron Lagoon, rather than directly on the Gulf or Sarasota Bay.
The property’s website notes that Siesta Key’s free trolley serves the bungalows, connecting guests with destinations throughout the island.
Siesta Key’s three main beaches are Siesta Beach, Crescent Beach and Turtle Beach. Restaurants, shops and recreational opportunities elsewhere on the island add to its appeal as a vacation destination.
For prospective buyers, the offering combines an existing collection of vacation accommodations with a lagoonfront location in one of Sarasota County’s best-known tourism destinations.
