An officer-involved shooting in Sarasota early Sunday followed a shooting in a McDonald’s parking lot, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.
The officer-involved shooting occurred around 12:20
a.m. Oct. 11 in the area of the 4800 block of Hoyer Drive, the agency said in a news release.
It followed a shooting in the McDonald’s parking lot at Cattlemen and Bee Ridge roads. The release did not provide further details about how the two incidents were connected.
The Sheriff’s Office did not report whether anyone was injured or identify those involved. The agency said there was no threat to public safety.
The Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Section is investigating, and additional information will be released later.
