Avelo Airlines is adding a new nonstop route from Sarasota Bradenton International Airport to the Dallas area, with flights beginning in December and introductory one-way fares starting at $69 for select January travel.
The airline announced Oct. 15 that service to McKinney National Airport in North Texas will begin Dec. 16. Flights will operate twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The addition will bring Avelo Airlines’ nonstop destinations from SRQ to three. The airline also serves Tweed-New Haven Airport in Connecticut and Wilmington Airport in Delaware.
Avelo Airlines said it will be the only airline offering nonstop service between SRQ and McKinney National Airport, which it markets as an alternative to larger Dallas-area airports.
“We’re
excited to bring a new nonstop route to Sarasota-Bradenton and make it easier than ever for travelers to connect between Florida’s Gulf Coast and North Dallas/McKinney,” Andrew Levy, Avelo Airlines founder and CEO, said in a news release.
The airline is promoting McKinney’s smaller airport as offering less congestion, convenient parking and shorter trips from the curb to the gate.
The $69 introductory fare is available for travel from Jan. 7-31 and must be purchased by Oct. 22. Seats and days are limited, according to the airline.
Reservations are available at AveloAir.com.
